HELENA MELISSA KEELER December 21,1935 - December 20, 2012 Keeler, Helena Melissa - passed away December 20, 2012 at the age of 76 in Red Bluff. Helena was one day shy of celebrating her 77th birthday. Helena was born in the hills of North Carolina and at the age of around two years old, her family moved to Richfield. Helena and her brothers and sisters worked hard on the family dairy farm. Helena was a graduate of Corning High School. On April 24, 1954 Helena married the love of her life Arlo R. Keeler, Jr. Helena was an avid bowler in her younger days and many times had the high womans game at the Lariat Bowl. While raising three children, Helena helped her mother whenever needed to run the old Peter Pan caf‚ in downtown Red Bluff. Helena was a loving wife / homemaker to Junior until his passing December 13, 2010. After Juniors retirement from the Alaska pipeline, Junior and Helena looked forward to traveling and camping with family and friends. They enjoyed riding quads on the Oregon Dunes in Coos Bay, Oregon and loved watching NASCAR. Before she became ill, she loved planting and taking care of her flowers and many times people would slow down going past the house to admire all the bright colors. Helena especially took pride as a mother and friend to her children and provided a supportive and loving home. Helena is survived her loving and cherished children, David Keeler (Kathy), Pamala Keeler and Gary Keeler (Kimberly) all residing in Red Bluff. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Helena is also survived by one Brother Enis Metcalf of Manton. Helena was preceded in death by her Mother Dorothy Metcalf/Tilson and Brothers John and Oscar Metcalf and Sisters Doris DeBoer and Virginia Riddle. No services will be held upon Helena's request.
