He walked peacefully through the gates of heaven on January 14, 2018. At the age of 18, Ron met the love of his life, Faith Elaine Cole; he married her four years later on April 13, 1957. Together, they had four boys and raised them on a farm in Gerber, California. He received his associate's degree from Shasta College and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from University of California Davis. He completed student teaching in Williams, California and was then offered a job teaching at an elementary school in Corning, California. He taught at Olive View Elementary School and Maywood Middle School for a total of 29 years before retiring. He continued in the education field, substitute teaching at Red Bluff Union High School for many years. After leaving the education field, he became employed by Newton-Bracewell Funeral Home in Chico, California. For 13 years, he performed a vast array of jobs for the funeral home that took him to all of the borders of California and some other states as well. When he wasn't busy teaching or working for Newton-Bracewell, he enjoyed spending time in the shop doing woodwork or on his farm tending to his orchard. He was a loved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ron is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Barbara), Joseph (April), and Clayton (Jennifer), daughter-in-law Debbie, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
