Robert Bruce Richardson

On Monday October 12, 2020 Robert Bruce Richardson, Loving Father and grandfather passed away at the age of 83.

Robert "Bob" was born on August 28, 1937 in Visalia, California to Noble and Helen Richardson. In his youth he moved with his family to Orland, California where he remained until after college. It was then that Bob moved to Redding and started a family of his own. Bob worked for Caltrans most of his career and after retirement he remained busy running his own surveying business. After selling his survey business he wanted to continue doing the work he loved so he began consulting for Butler Engineering where he remained active until his passing.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman and spent much of his free time Hunting, Fishing, Camping, volunteering and teaching for one of the many organizations he was affiliated with. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and California Rifle and Pistol Association, a member of the Shasta County Sportsman and was very active in the annual junior and women's pheasant hunts promoting and teaching the sport he so thoroughly enjoyed. His true passion was his involvement with Ducks Unlimited where he was a committee member for many years, during which time he helped the local chapter break records for money raised to support D.U. He was also a former member of the Redding Gun Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and numerous others.

Bob was preceded in death by his Father Noble, his Mother Helen and his wife Juli. He is survived by his children Kevin Haley -his wife Cheryl Haley , Julie Payton, Sarah Richardson and Step son John Hill-his wife Kim Hill. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Robert Bellanti, Michael Bellanti his wife Stefenee Bellanti, Justin Haley, Samantha Haley, Alexander Richardson, Nicolas Richardson and great granddaughter Nora Bellanti.

Graveside services to be held November 6, 2020 at the Orland Masonic Cemetery at 11:00 am 3900 County Rd P, Orland, Ca 95963 11:00.

A celebration of life will be held after the burial at 3:00 pm at 8440 Redbank Road Redding, Ca 96001

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Ducks Unlimited- c/o Gene Higgins 13711 Wildwood Lane Redding, Ca 96003

I always enjoyed the time I spent with Bob. The Junior and Women's Pheasant Hunts as well as the Veterans shoot. We checked Wood duck boxes and talked about guns and many other things we were involved with. I will miss Bob. I have known him for over 20 years. He was my friend. One of the last photos with Bob and Me
