Born to Edgar and Lydia Hutchinson in Pasadena, California, June attended the Pasadena City Schools and graduated from John Muir High School and Pasadena Junior College with a degree in Business. June married the love of her life Donald Thomas Hartwell whom she grew up with while attending Holliston Methodist Church in Pasadena. Don had been a member of the Boy Scouts where June's father was Scoutmaster and they eventually married on June 13, 1943 just before Don was to be shipped out to the Philippines during WWII.

A few years after returning from active duty, Don and June opened and operated the Valley Craft Center on Azusa Ave., in Azusa, California from 1953 to 1990. June is preceded in death by her husband Don and her brother Ted Hutchinson. June is survived by her sisters Mary Pond and Roberta Garland, three sons Douglas (Laurel), Kenneth and Curtis (Jeanette) and three grandsons, Donald James, Robert Paul and Christopher Allen Hartwell.

A celebration of June's life will be held on September 7, 2013 at 10:00 am at Covina United Methodist Church where she attended for many years and was most active in the choir. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Covina United Methodist Church choir fund.
