Anita Whitmore Obituary
September 9, 1932 - January 23, 2019 Anita Marie (Ullo) Whitmore, 86, passed away on January 23, 2019, from Alzheimer's disease. She was a 66-year resident of San Bernardino. Whitmore worked for San Bernardino dentist Dr. Neal Bowen for 41 years serving as a dental assistant, office manager, and dental assistant instructor. She was an active member of the American Business Women's Association, organizing many trips and participating in annual fashion shows. Whitmore also volunteered with City of Hope, raising money for cancer research and scholarships and serving as the group's president. She received the Citizen of Achievement Award from the San Bernardino chapter of the League of Women Voters in 1996. At just over five-foot tall, Whitmore was well known for her extensive selection of stiletto heels, which she wore even for trips to Stater Brothers. Born in Niagra Falls, N.Y., she was predeceased by her parents, Francesca (Insana) Ullo and Salvatore "Peter" Ullo, as well as her sister, Vincenette (Lupton) Ullo. Whitmore is survived by three nieces and their nine children and grandchildren. Private burial will be held at a later date at the Montecito Memorial Park, in Colton, California.
