Carolyn Patricia, "Pat," 95, a resident of Redlands, Calif. passed away on December 21, 2017 in Redlands. Born February 9, 1922, to Cecil and Elizabeth Rush in Utah, Pat moved to California in 1953. The University of Minnesota graduate taught graphic arts for more than 20 years at Redlands Union High School. At the age of 52, she earned a Master of Arts at Claremont Graduate University and took subsequent classes from the University of Tennessee at Arrowmont. Pat leaves behind a legacy of not staying within the lines and adding texture and enthusiasm wherever she went. The published author of "Travels with My Pen" made more than 25 trips worldwide. She was a founding member of Watercolor West, a nonprofit arts organization, and served on multiple boards, including Family Service Association of Redlands and the Edward-Dean Museum. Pat was preceded in death by her brother Phillip Rush. Departed for the heavens one day after her 70th wedding anniversary to return to husband Ken Fullerton (passed away in 2004), Pat is survived by her four children, Judith Ernst of Riverside, Calif.; John Fullerton (Geri) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Jeanne Ross (Don) of Dolores, Colo.; and Mark Fullerton (Bonnie) of Laguna Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren, Tobin Ernst (Jamie), Katie Aughey (Paul), Maggie Thoma (Jed), Neil Ernst (Kim), Douglas Fullerton, Lt. Col., US Army (Maria) and Jenny Fullerton; and nine great grandchildren, Kylie, Benjamin, Bridget, Nora, John Jr., Fenna, Bryn, Andrew and Allison. Services will be held privately with family.
