Mike, beloved husband father, grandfather, and friend passed away January 11 due to complications from surgery. He was born on January 16,1942, to Frank and Betty Henry in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Mike's family moved to Redlands in 1957. He graduated from Redlands High School in 1960 and from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, in 1967 with a degree in Finance, Real Estate, and Law. He worked for Xerox Corporation, Rustic Fence (a family business), and Kaman Industrial Technologies. After retiring in 2006, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing golf, and playing bridge. Mike was active in the First Congregational Church where he served as Moderator, on the Board of Directors, and on the Diaconate. He also served on the board of the Friends of A. K. Smiley Library,
Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jane; his two sons, James of Peoria, Arizona, and Steven (Danielle) of Huntington Beach; and four grandchildren, Hannah, Tyler, Kierstin, and Erin. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on January 27, at 11:00 in the First Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, 2 West Olive Avenue, Redlands or to Friends of A. K. Smiley Library, 125 West Vine Street, Redlands.
