Roger C Wade Sr December 22, 1931 - January 2, 2019 Roger Carrell Wade Sr passed away quietly with his family by his side on January 2nd, 2019 in Fountain Hills Arizona following a long medical health condition with his heart. He was preceeded in death by his son John Christopher and his beloved wife of 63 years, Marshallie. He is survived by a son Roger C Wade Jr from Clairemont San Diego, daughter Cindy L Backes from Fountain Hills Arizona, seven grandchildren and 2 great grand children. Roger graduated from Chaffey Union H.S.(Ontario, CA) in 1949 and Chaffey Jr College in 1951, Following 4 years of service, US Navy Hospital Corpsman during the Korean War. Graduated from Cal State University Los Angeles in 1964 with a BA while living in Upland, CA. Roger married Marshallie Pruitt on 29 August 1954 while working as a Control Chemist for Sunkist Fruit Growers, Ontario, CA. He worked the next 17 plus years at Aerojet General Corporation in Azusa, CA and was a real "Rocket Scientist", classified as a Senior Engineer in the Solid Propellant Division. He and 7 other AGC employees spun off and started the Aerojet Medical and Biological Division at the AGC Space General Facility in El Monte, CA. It was here that Roger became involved in marketing and traveled extensively in the US placing test devices in governmental and private test laboratories. Later self-employed as a free lance consultant, then Marketing Engineer by Geomet company. Next entering a different world, metal forging, he became the first Sales Manager at Pacific Forge in Etiwanda, CA. After making the company too much money, as he would tell it, Roger became employed by Aluminum Forge Company, Santa Ana, CA as a Manager of the Engineering Department; also becoming Manager of two I.M.I.P. programs sponsored by the US Air Force. This led to his final employment at Schlosser Forge Company, Rancho Cucamonga, CA where he held his final title as Facilities Manager. It was here that he secured and managed USAF sponsored IMIP funding to design, develop and operate the largest Ring Rolling Mill (180") in the US. Roger retired in 1999 to a real estate position with Century 21 Beachside in Upland, CA. He received his first license in 1966. He was President of the Citrus Valley Association of Realtors in 2005, Realtor of the Year (1983, 2006) and Honorary Member for Life (2008). Roger was also a C.A.R. "Key Contact" to two CA Representatives, one CA Senator and One US Congresswoman. Roger was a 30 year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 2570 and 1419, most recently a member in good standing with the Fountain Hills Elks Lodge 2846. In lieu of flowers, monitary donations will be accepted by daughter Cindy Backes 17511 E Yamu Kiva Cr, Fountain Hills, Az 85268 and in turn donated to two veteran programs that Roger was involved with at time of passing. Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on February 16th at the Elks Lodge 1150 W 4th Street, Ontario California 91762, 909-984-2777 from 2 to 4PM.
