Lisa Susanne Hammargren, 41, Stanton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at her home after an extended illness.
Lisa was born Jan. 10, 1977, in Omaha, the daughter of Lawrence and Susan (Weare) Waugh. She was raised in Carter Lake and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. Lisa received her LPN certification from College of St. Mary. She was united in marriage to Brian Hammargren on July 19, 1997, in Omaha. They made their home in Council Bluffs until moving to Omaha in 2001. Their family moved to Texas in 2012 and then to Stanton in 2013. Most recently, Lisa had been working at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Lisa was a very creative person who loved doing crafts and cooking. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her children, Andrew and Emily. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed her time as a sponsor for both the cheer team and dance team at Stanton Schools. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling, especially their Disney trips.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Robert and Mary Weare.
Survivors include her husband, Brian; and their children, Andrew and Emily of Stanton; mom and dad, Susan Weare Kaiser and Mike Kaiser of Carter Lake; father, Lawrence Waugh of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Nancy Waugh Stary and husband Nick of Elkhorn, Neb.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Deanna and JE Spangenberg of Stanton; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Burke and husband Mike, and Jenny Roberts of Stanton; aunt, Kathy Church and husband Ken of Millard, Neb.; nieces and nephews, Kaylee and Kassie Aherns of Elkhorn; Abby, Riley, and Jayden Burke of Stanton; Kaitlyn, Kaden, and Kenneth Rogers of Millard, Neb.; and Adrian Haynie of Stanton; cousins, Anne Rogers and husband Jeff of Millard, and Michael Church of Omaha; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.
