Thomas Barfield Obituary
NORFOLK, Va. - Thomas Cleveland Barfield, 69, of Norfolk, formerly of Greene Co, NC passed away on Friday April 7, 2017. He was born on November 10, 1947 in Durham Co., NC to Walter and Pauline Holloman Barfield. Thomas was preceded in death by both parents; his son Thomas Barfield Jr. and a nephew, Herbert Bennett.
Thomas served in the United States Army. He was self-employed as a Moving Contractor, specializing in moving houses. He was a member of the House Movers Assoc. of NC and the local DAV in VA. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to music, watching Nascar Races and Wrestling Matches, but his most cherished memories were of the times spent with his family.
Thomas is survived by his two sons Michael Barfield and wife, Tina, of Grimesland and Corey Barfield, of VA; his daughter, Melissa B. Sanchez and husband, Andres, of VA; four beautiful grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Brandon and Blake Barfield and one precious great granddaughter, Ariana Coleman; his ex-wife, mother of his children and very dear friend, Ann Hill. He also leaves behind a sister, Elizabeth Barfield, of FL; an aunt, Joanne Rock and nieces and nephew, Dawn Elder, Erica Kile, Janie Pruitt and Will Robson as well as other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening starting at 6:30pm with guest speakers and a Eulogy to be read at 7:30pm at Farmer Funeral Service-Ayden.
