Not sure what to say?

Mom, it's been a year since you've been gone, and not a day has passed that i haven't thought of you and missed all the wonderful times we had on the journey. There have been so many times when I wished I could share something with you and then remembered my friend is gone from this world. Love and miss you ,Mom

Shirley was one of the kindest, wisest people I have ever known. I remember one time when I was at my worst and she said some of the most wise, loving, and supportive words I've ever heard. I remember them often. I am so thankful to have known her although I was not as close to her as some. I would think it, at times, challenging to have such a generous mother and she was SO generous not just in her hospitality but of her time and love. She was one of those people who quietly and needing no recognition makes the whole world brighter. I'm sure that in time that warm "sun of memories" will dry many of the tears you her family and dearest friends experience. May the only ones left be of sweet remembrance. May you have the best of her love within you, where it has always been, for yourselves and to share with your other loved ones and may you find great peace, even if now you don't see how it could be possible now. It will be, ask your memory of her. She'll tell you so. :-). Sandra (formerly Kafka) Smith

Grammy, I couldn't say anything at first because I was beyond words. I just want to say thank you for letting me be a part of your's and Derisa's lives. I didn't realize how much I learned from you until that very sad heart wrenching day we had to say good bye. Listening to all the stories from all those people, made me realize why I do some of the things I do. Like you I open my home to everybody, who needs a place, not always a good thing, but I still do it. I thank you Grammy for being there for Derisa and I when you didn't have to be.I will do my best to be here for our best girl, now that you can't be. :( I love you in my own special way and am sad to see you go. But now you are with God and the angels. My you be at peace. With all my love.
