Michael Carroll Obituary
New Hartford- Michael E. Carroll, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. He was married to the love of his life, Roxanne (Goff) Carroll, for 46 years. Michael was born October 27, 1951 in Pittsfield, MA; the son of the late Robert and Mary (Pochinchuk) Carroll. He was a graduate of Northwestern Regional #7. Mike retired from Sweetlife Foods after 30 years of service. He was the proud owner and operator of M. E. Carroll and Sons LLC, a local excavating contractor since 1987. Mike was a true friend to all who knew him; and he enjoyed entertaining his friends and family at his home in Bakerville. He celebrated his heritage by extensively traveling to Russia and Ireland and many other locations around world. His passion in life was time spent with family, especially his seven grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he leaves his three cherished sons, Joshua M. Carroll and wife Kelly of New Hartford, Jared W. Carroll and wife Dawn of New Hartford and Jonathan G. Carroll and wife Jannelle of Goshen; and his precious grandchildren, Michael II, Alexa, Sophia, Warren, Max, Jane and June; brothers, Stephen, Robert Jr., and Duke; sisters, Linda, Maryann, Kathy, Marcia, Mary, Judy and Maggie; his much loved mother-in-law with whom he shared a special bond, Barbara Goff of New Hartford; and his adored dog, Rudy. His family is extremely proud of Mike and how hard he fought a valiant battle without complaint throughout this journey; always offering a smile to all he met along the way. Friends may call on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford from 5 - 8 p.m. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Bakerville United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Private burial will be held at Bakerville Cemetery in the spring.
