The Chinese have an ancient philosophy that says " ...once you meet a man you like, you're destined to meet him again! The.perfect sentiment for the man who in his "short walk on this planet we call Earth touched so many everyday of his life. Rick Charles (an old radio name) spent his life doing just that;as a teacher,a mentor and a good friend to many who passed his way Rick took great pride in preparing all his students to leading successful lives, achieving their goals and the rewards of happiness through their entire lives. Truly a man that was and is still loved by those who knew him and is indeed someone as the Chinese belief YOU WILL MEET AGAIN!
Thank you Rick, we miss you already!

I want to extend my sympathy to Rick's family. It was great working with him at OSU. I haven't seen him for a number of years, but the photo in this obituary is perfect. He was positive and humorous so much of the time. My prayers are with you in this challenging time.

I'll be thinking of you during this time of loss. I had the opportunity to get to know Rick while he was at OSU and always enjoyed his company especially on the golf course. He is a good soul.
