I enjoyed 66 years of friendship with David, weathering both tears and laughter. He was a loyal, delightful friend. Wherever he is, he's making a difference.

For 66 years, we enjoyed , as David called it, "a colorful friendship." He was ever a faithful, generous friend.

Lucy, David was a dashing man and a mesmerizing spirit. I was lucky enough to know him during the Atrium and Oregon Repertory Theater's heydey. I was saddened to read of his death in Ken Hof's letter to the Weekly. Much love to you during this difficult time.

Dear Lucy and Family-
As I mentioned in the Guard, I thought David was a visionary and produced some of the best theater I've ever seen, period. He has been and will be in my thoughts forever. A great mentor, a great man. Much love, Ken Hof.

Lucy,Girls( women) and all who love David. Great memories of that dashing man who came to Eugene Oregon to guide a theater company. But more than that, a man whose joy of life was infectious. Thanking him for the lessons he taught me and his generosity to me and others. He left a foot print on me and everyone else in his orbit. Thank you, David. Love, Jane

I knew David back in the long long ago. We were neighbors and friends on the lower east side in NYC, and if memory serves, worked together at a non-equity theater at 169 Allen Street. I knew his first wife Nancy. Bang the drum slowly. May he rest in peace.

Dearest Lucy and extended Lunney Family,
I am saddened upon hearing of David's passing. I will always feel the blessing for having known David and his sense of fun. He lived his Heaven every day in his kindness, joy, laughter and love of life , friends and family. As I reflect on him I am reminded of My blessings and My Heaven. A smile fills my heart.
I hold you all in a warm embrace of comfort.
Peace & Love,
Carol Anne
