William Goldsberry Obituary
Loveland, CO - William "Bill" R. Goldsberry Sr., a resident of Loveland for 18 years, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in the accompaniment of his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Veronica and Lora; son, Bill Jr.; granddaughter, McCall; daughter-in-law, Sasha and son-in-law Alan. Born on May 28, 1937 in Kokomo, IN, to Beulah R. & William A. Goldsberry. Bill was a 20+ year firefighter for the Lakewood, CO fire department retiring his career as Chief of the Department in 1990. With no professional benefit but honoring the request of his mother for higher education, Bill graduated from Regis College at age 49 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Economics. Bill was a member of and actively participated in the Colorado State Fire Chiefs (Pres.), International Association of Fire Chiefs (life member), Missouri Valley Fire Chiefs (life member), Metro Fire Chiefs Association (Pres.), Rocky Mountain Fleet Managers Association Colorado Chapter (Pres.), , Co-Founder of Gold Roofing, Inc. in Loveland and many others. In 1975, Bill was the recipient of "Fireman of the Year Award" recognized and honored by then Governor Richard Lamm for his actions in saving the life of 16 year old Scott Popper whom was involved in a stray bullet hunting accident that required life-saving measures until Flight for Life was able to reach the scene near Steamboat Springs, Colo. Bill was not the Cadillac style, he was an honest, ethical and hardworking man who loved nothing more than his wife of 61 years, Carolyn. He supported the dreams of his children and loved to watch the family grow. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Goldsberry; daughters, Veronica Crain (Alan), Lora Dahlberg (Dale); son, William Goldsberry Jr. (Sasha); sister, Cheryllyn Goldsberry; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Allnutt Funeral Home, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80538 on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and again 1 hour prior to services at Thursday, November 8. Funeral Services will held 11:00a.m. at Allnutt Funeral Chapel in Loveland. Procession to the interment in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Berthoud, CO will follow.
