James Daffron Obituary

James David Daffron

Tuscola

James David Daffron, 67, went home to be with the Lord on September. 20, 2012. He passed away at his residence with his family surrounding him.

He was born December 1, 1944, in Cleveland, Tenn. to Jon and Pauline Daffron. He served in Vietnam as an Army helicopter door gunner. After Vietnam, Dave married Patsy Morreira on March 13, 1973 in Wailuku, Maui. In their 39 years of marriage, Dave and Patsy moved all over the United States before settling in Tuscola in 2005.

Dave loved each and every one of his family members, which is evident in the following eulogies:

We were very fortunate to have him in our lives. He was a truly wonderful dad to all of us. ~Daughters Margie, Gail, Paulyne

He was the best papa that anyone could ever ask for. He went to all of my events including; open house, watched me march in band my freshman year and everything in between. He always encouraged me to do my best in everything I do. I will miss my papa and love him forever. ~ Britney

Papa was always there for me. He taught me so much. I learned how to drive a stick shift when I was 9. He always told me don't be afraid of anything. I was grateful he got to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. Without him I don't think I would be the same. He made a great impression on my children, husband, and me. ~ Brandy

He is survived by his loving wife Patsy, 3 daughters; Margie, Gail, and Paulyne all of Texas, two other children Jon and Nan from Hawaii, his precious granddaughter Britney of Tuscola, granddaughter Brandy and husband LaRon of Tennessee, grandchildren Kenneth of Hawaii, and, Kara and Kevin of Texas, and ten great-grandchildren.

Dave's wishes where for cremation and for his family to hold a family reunion with his favorite foods, of hamburgers, hotdogs, chili, potato salad, and finished with Banana wafer pudding.

We would like to thank Hendricks Hospice Care and the 6th floor in the Anderson wing. Family and friends have also helped us in this hard time along with all the prayers from First Baptist Church of Tuscola.

My memories of Dave were admiring what a truly devoted grandfather he was to Britney. He loved her so much and supported her in everything she participated in. Always waiting so patiently for her. He always seemed so calm and peaceful. I miss visiting with him and seeing him in passing. Please know my deepest sympathy reaches out to his entire family that loved him so dearly. We are all still praying at FBC Tuscola for strength and comfort during this difficult time for all of you. Celebrate his life and love this weekend and know he's waiting for all of you on the peaceful shore in heaven!!!
