Lt. Co. (Ret) Robert C. Karhan

Lt. Col. (Ret) Robert C. Karhan, passed away January 27, 2014.
He was born March 14, 1919 in Cleveland Ohio to Joseph and Helen Karhan. He graduated from Shaw High School and attended Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio.
He was drafted into the service in 1941 then attended Cadet Flying School. He graduated on April 23, 1943 as an 2 ND Lt.
He had a distinguishing 26 year military career including ours in Turkey, England, France and Spain. He received the Bronze Star and several other distinguished service metals.
He met his wife Maria at Dyess AFB and fell in love and married in 1962.
He retired in 1966 As Lt. Col and made Abilene his home. He served as Marketing Manager for Shur Guide Corp of Abilene until his retirement in 1981.
Robert was an avid golfer and member of the Kiwanis club and served as president of the Hibernian club of Abilene.
He moved to Dallas with his wife in 2010 and resided at Five Star Premier Residence until his death.
He is survived by his son, James Karhan, his daughter Kimberly D'Angelo, grand children, Colby Karhan, Casey Karhan and Alex D'Angelo, daughter in law Gay Karhan and son in law Gregg D'Angelo.
Services will be held February 7 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene, Texas.
