Selma "Sal" Mary Darnell

Sal died peacefully at Manor Care on Friday, October 19, with close friends at her side. She was born in Long Beach, California on March 26, 1924 to Selma Gertrude and Everett Darnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Luther Lee.

A proud Air Force veteran serving from 49 - 53, as a photographer and lab technician, Selma often reminisced about her experiences.

Selma retired from Harrah's Reno having worked for 28 years as an accomplished roulette dealer and where she made many close friends. During this time she was also a locksmith and ran her own small business. She was a member of the Light of the Soul United Church of Christ. She often traveled out of town to visit friends. Selma loved deep sea fishing, fishing, eating out and most sports. She had a unique and enduring spirit, a dry sense of humor and she will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, November 1, at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Veterans Way, Fernley, 575-4441.
