Edith Marjory Jackson

1921 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Edith Marjory Jackson

- - September 15, 1921- June 23, 2018. Surrounded by family, Edith was 96 years old when she passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at home after a long and valiant fight with dementia.

She was born to Gertrude Shaw and John William Jackson on September 15, 1921, in Wadsworth, NV. She was a Native American Indian and a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.

She was an extraordinarily strong-willed woman and as a single mother with minimal income, undaunted determination, and many long grueling hours spent as a domestic laborer, she raised three children.

She enjoyed cooking, sitting in her backyard, being driven around town to see all the new sights, but most of all she enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Edith was generous to all those she knew - giving and loving without expectation. She was known affectionately as Grandma Boo Boo. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Her spirit will forever live on in our hearts and in our memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Gertrude Shaw and John William Jackson, her brothers; Arthur Shaw Jackson, John Richard Jackson, and William Garnet Jackson, her sister Doris Jackson, and her sons; Thomas Garnett Jackson and Michael Shaw Jackson.

She is survived by her grandson; Scott Gotcher (Angela Sullivan), her great-grandchildren; Sierra Gotcher and Jacob Gotcher, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on September 15, 2018, with close family and friends.
