Eileen Kathryn Casazza Obituary
Eileen Kathryn Casazza

Reno - Eileen Kathryn Casazza passed away unexpectedly, though peacefully on November 14, at the age of 91. Eileen was born on January 9, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to Thomas and Alma Cole. Throughout her childhood years, she traveled extensively throughout the central and southwest U.S. as her parents followed jobs during the Great Depression. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, New Mexico, then moved with her family to Los Angeles where she earned an Associate Degree in Interior Design at Woodbury College. In 1953, while on a trip to Lake Tahoe, she attended a party at the 4-H beach in Stateline, Nevada and met the love of her life Ralph Casazza. Dazzled, Ralph invited her to the Candy Dance in Genoa where he proposed, and the rest was history. They married the following Valentine's Day, 1954. Ralph and Eileen enjoyed 59 years of marriage prior to Ralph's passing in 2013.

Eileen and Ralph raised 6 children together and Eileen was deeply invested her children's lives from childhood to adulthood. Eileen will be remembered for her kindness, patience and willingness to help anyone and everyone. Her most cherished role was that of a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a stellar homemaker and an expert seamstress, making many of the children's clothes, draperies for their home and was a very skilled crafter. She focused her life on making her family the best they could be. She was an excellent cook, a gardener, and a community volunteer. After dissolution of the Guild she continued to meet with other members on a monthly basis. She was also a longtime parishioner of Saint Therese Church of the Little Flower. Following Ralph's death, she became an integral part of the management of Shoppers Square.

After raising her children, she became a doting grandmother for her 13 grandchildren, and more recently, 2 great-grandchildren. Eileen was always ready to lend a helping hand to her entire family as well as others in need.
