Reno - Margaret JoAnn Brant, daughter to the late Joseph and Clara Loehrlein, passed away July 1, 2018 at 4:13pm. She was 86.

She was born in Evansville Indiana, August 18, 1931 where she lived with her 4 brothers (Eugene, Charles, Paul, Claude, deceased) and 1 surviving sister (Mary). She graduated college with an Associates in Home Economics with aspirations of working for Betty Crocker and met her Husband of 67 Years, Clayton A. Brant. As an Air Force wife, she traveled much of the USA and spent 3 years in England, traveling Europe with her Husband and 4 children. Upon Clayton's military retirement, the family relocated to Sparks, Nevada in 1971, where the family has lived since. She is survived by Connie Brant, widow of Larry, her oldest son, losing his battle to cancer in 2002. Lynne (Brant) Padilla married to Pete, Mark Brant, married to Shelley, and her youngest son David Brant. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Margaret, "Micki" to family and friends, was an avid cook, gardener, painter, active church member receiving the Reno Diocesan Volunteer Award. Her careers spanned from weather girl, to Sales Supervisor for Baker and Taylor Book Wholesale.

She was a devoted wife, and consummate mother. She was deeply loved by friends and family, and will be profoundly missed.

A service will be held at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Community Church, 5650 Vista Blvd, Sparks, Nevada 89436 with a celebration of life reception to follow at Pinocchio's in Sparks, 4820 Vista Blvd., immediately following. Walton's Sparks Funerals and Cremation was entrusted with arrangements.
