Patricia Ann Shewmaker Obituary
Patricia Ann Shewmaker

Reno - On Saturday, June 23, 2018 loving wife and mother of four, Patricia Ann Shewmaker entered eternal life at the age of 89. Pat was born in Bend, Oregon to Edward and Alice Smith on June 16, 1928. She graduated high school in Kellogg Idaho, and soon married Wilbur "Bus" Shewmaker. They lived in California during two wars. Shortly thereafter they moved to Reno, NV. Her husband Bus built a brick house in 1952, and Pat swore that she would never leave that house. She never did. She and Bus lived in their family home for 65 years. With much love, they raised four children. Pat had a passion for her family and her husband and St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She also had a passion for keeping her and her husband's families communicating being as they had moved so far away from northern Idaho. Pat remembered everyone's birthdays, and sent out cards all year long. Her world-renowned Christmas card list was long indeed. She liked league bowling, sewing, big Christmas presents, making quilts, and jewelry and all manner of fundraising for her local church, St. Luke's. She was known for her infectious smile, constant penny-pinching (LOL), her eager laugh, and her kind compassionate spirit. Pat's spirit is carried on by her children Karen Valline, Kristyne Shewmaker, Kelley Shewmaker, and Kaye Reese. Pat had her heart stolen by her grandchildren Jody Rogers, Jill Bayliss, Conner Reese, and Patty Cappa. Just when she never thought she could never fall in love again, she welcomed great grandchildren Dallas Rogers, Jamison Rogers, Billy Bayliss, Donovan and Dominick Cappa, and Lucas Reese. The family wishes to thank St. Mary's Home Hospice team for their awesomeness. There will be a service on July 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church 3835 Lakeside Dr., Reno.
