Sharon A. Schofield Oxborrow
6/30/1940 - 4/23/2020
Heaven gained a feisty little Angel on April 23, 2020. Mom was born to Sterling and Berlie Schofield on 6/30/1940 at Washoe General Hospital and she never left the area. She retired from St. Mary's Hospital in 1988 after 20 years working in the nursery. She loved her job, caring for the newborns (including her grandchildren). She loved playing Scrabble, watching Days of Our Lives and playing the keno machines at Gold Dust West. She adored her sisters, Myrna Murphy (we lost 7/1/14), Loretta McAfee, Kathy Arriaga, and Sherry Schofield. She was married to Retired Reno Fire Fighter James Oxborrow in 1974 until his passing in 1997. She is survived by her children, Shirley Dannan, Tommy (Buba) Miller and Teresa Bowen. Grandchildren, Christopher King, Holly Stewart (Jason), Vincent Miller (Heather), Katie Dannan, Kelly Dannan and Marcella Bowen. Great grandson Bentley. Brother in law Neil Murphy of Reno and Brother in law and sister in law Carol and Joann Hansen (Idaho). Cousins, Cyndee Wessman (Jim) Cheryl Russell (Ed) and Debbie Casarez (Jack). Sharon had so many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as well that it would take another page to mention them all, but she loved them all. She had many lifetime friends, to name a few, Patsy Hallmark, Jonnie Gay Maskaly, Mary Clark, Pat Luekl and Dr Francine Mannix. Mom was the family and friend communicator. She pretty much kept everyone informed as to what was going on. She made an impression on so many lives, she will be forever missed!
Celebration of Life will be June 27, 2020 Saturday at the Chinese Pagoda Pavilion at Rancho San Rafael from 11:00 am to 4ish? Mom was so excited to celebrate her 80th Birthday which would have been June 30th, so we will celebrate here on Earth with our love sent to heaven. Please bring a chair and a story if you would like to share. We are requesting adults only due to social distancing. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make donation to CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada or SPCA, would be appreciated, but not necessary.
