Bryan Vasko Obituary

Bryan L. Vasko, MD

July 16, 1965

November, 15, 2015

Bryan Louis Vasko, 50, of Reno, Nevada, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 15, 2015.

Bryan met and married Krysti Boeck in Augusta, Georgia and together they had six children, Keri, Anna, Jason, Nicklos, Jonathan, and Christopher, all surviving.

Born July 16, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Truman and Kay Vasko, he was one of five children, all surviving.

He was the Chief Compensation and Pension Physician at the Sierra Nevada VA, however he had practiced internal medicine throughout the country for twenty years prior.

Bryan will be missed for his honesty, integrity, adventurous spirit, razor sharp wit, and his commitment to excellence. His legacy lives on through his children, who were his life's work, and who he was most proud of.

One of his favorite things to say, was, "You'd have to be an idiot not to follow God."

His memorial and burial services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015, at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Ave., Reno, NV.

I am SO sorry to hear that Bryan has died. I've lost track of the Vasko family since the mid-1980s (tried social media unsuccessfully, so far). Bryan, Mark, Todd, Jeff and Renee were a very important part of my children's/youth ministry at Vienna First Baptist Church. I remember Bryan well, and enjoyed his unique, pleasant personality. Obviously he's done well through the years and will be greatly missed by his children and so many other relatives and friends. Blessings on all of you during this difficult time.

So very sad to learn of Bryan's sudden passing. Bryan and the entire Vasko family were such an important part of my teen years. I'll never forget the wonderful lessons and wisdom that Bryan shared just by being himself. Sending all my love to Krysti, Keri, Anna, Jason, Nickolas, Jonathan, and Christopher.
