Margaret Gregory Obituary

On Sept. 30, after 91 years of a fun, productive, and rewarding life, Peg died peacefully of natural causes at her recent home in Maine. A lover of life and good friends, she herself was most content working behind her easel, either at home in Wakefield, where she painted cool New England landscapes and flower studies from Jim's incredible garden, or on Anguilla, where she captured on her canvases the brilliant colors of the island flowers, beaches, animals, and happy people of the Caribbean, which she painted, exhibited, and sold in her gallery. Goats were among her favorite subjects, but they didn't hold a candle to the multitude of people, young and old, who commissioned portraits in either oils or pastels, that now hang in many public buildings and private homes.
Peg is predeceased by her husband Jim and leaves her daughter Lane, of Oak Bluffs, Ma., her son Allen and his wife Debra of Limington, ME, two granddaughters, and four great grandchildren.
Please buy yourself or someone else a beautiful bouquet, enjoy the beauty of nature around you, and do a significant kindness in the spirit of a remarkable woman, who will live on forever in the paintings she leaves behind.
