HAAS, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy," age 9, beloved daughter of Cathy and Jay Haas, died on July 2, 2016, in Richmond. Betsy was born on October 23, 2006, and was a miracle child from birth. She lived every day of her nine years to the fullest. Spunky, funny and always up for adventure, Betsy was a bright light everywhere she went. She loved Mary Munford Elementary School, where she recently completed third grade. Betsy was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Barbara Pascucci; and her aunt, Anne Marie Hayes. She is survived by her parents, Cathy and Jay Haas; her grandfather, Don Pascucci; her grandparents, Judy and Carl Haas; her aunts and uncles, Kristy Haas, Carl Haas Jr., James Haas, Marshall Hayes and Carol and Lee Steider; and her cousins, Madeleine Kerns, Kamryn Shelton, Suvata Haas, and Ethan and Annie Steider. Betsy was amazing! We are privileged to have known her. What an amazing spirit she had, from her friendly smile to her fascinating intellect she just wowed you every time you saw her. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you family during this difficult time.
