Shocky Boyajian "Rosa Charlotte" Pilafian

PILAFIAN, Shocky "Rosa Charlotte" Boyajian, of Richmond, Va., passed away on October 3, 2016 at the age of 92. Born in Richmond, she was the daughter of Armenian immigrants who survived the Armenian genocide and settled in Richmond, Virginia. Shocky graduated in 1940 from Thomas Jefferson High School, studied business at RPI, and worked in the administrative office for the E & O railroad. She follows her family to their celestial reunion, led by her father, Yessip Boyajian; her mother, Hripsme Boyajian; and brothers, Sam (Helyn) and Nebe George (Margaret Shahinian) Boyajian. She married James Pilafian in 1946, whom had predeceased her, and they were blessed with three children, Sam (Diann), Nerisa Gay and Marni. She was also privileged to be the grandmother of granddaughter, Alexandra Pilafian Lee; and grandson, Alexander Sarkis Pilafian. She was proud to have many nieces and nephews. Shocky spent over 60 years residing in South Florida, where she and her husband owned and operated hotels in Key Biscayne, Miami, and Miami Beach.
