Zeno L. Goss Obituary

On Monday, November 5, 2018, heaven opened the gates, said "Can I get a BOOM", and called our beloved Zeno Alanson Goss, 57, of Petersburg, VA to his final home. Lance was one of the smartest and funniest men the world had ever known.

Of his numerous achievements throughout his life, he remained most proud to have been a Marine. Though released with medical honors, he proved daily that "once a Marine, always a Marine!"

He was the proud owner and operator of Paragon Tree Service in North Fort Myers, FL, until he transitioned to his final career with Greenbrier Management in Virginia. Lance was a people-pleaser and never met a stranger. He was the first to welcome a new neighbor and ensure they knew he was the unofficial spokesperson for the neighborhood.

Lance was preceded in death by his father, Zeno Goss and daughter, Hannah Goss.

He leaves behind his most loving mother, Aimee Goss; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanine and Thom Cross, Lisa and Donnie Doleac, Dianne and Larry Cooke, and Beth and Fred Townsend; his separated wife but best friend, Denise Goss; former wife but still close friend, Lara Cash Goss; two "choice daughters", Nichole Sheridan and Cassandra Huckabone; one biological daughter, Danielle; one son, Jacob Goss;  grandchildren, Thelma (Wawa), Gianna, Julianna, Joshua, and Lilyanna who was her PawPaw's Beetle Bear. Also left behind to cherish his memory are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and an endless number of friends that he's left a lasting impression on.

With Lance it was, "all good, always," no matter the situation, and the experiences were endless with his "sometimes, maybe, never" attitude. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy and memory will last a lifetime.

A celebration of life service will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 9, 2018 at Crosswalk–Kingsway Church, 5100 John Tyler Highway, Williamsburg, VA. A reception for close friends and family will follow shortly after.
