William Springston

William Springston, age 78, of Wilsons, VA, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. William was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, "Judy" Julia Hawkes Springston; brother, Dennis Garrett; children, William Marvin Springston (Margaret), John Ray Springston (Robin), Karen Springston Titmus (Alex); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. William retired from the Virginia Army National Guard with 25 years of service. He worked over 30 years for Fort Pickett and upon retirement went to work for the Nottoway County LRA. William was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wilsons. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. William loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, farming, as well as bowling and dancing. During William's illness, many gave their love and support. William had five faithful caregivers whom he loved dearly: granddaughter, Melissa Springston, Addie Fulghan, Betty Wyatt, Margie and Connie Akers....
