Dearest Wendi and family of Jeff -
I worked with Jeff when he first came to Roanoke as the contract foreman for maintenance. He was SO sweet and innocent and used to blush so easily and so young for such responsibility that he handled so well. He was always a good sport, efficient, caring, happy - that big smile always displayed, helpful with anything we asked. I watched him grow into such a nice young man and he was so thrilled to tell me about his "girlfriend" thatlater became his sweet wife. He was so proud of you. What a gentleman. Nobody liked a practical joke more than Jeff. The motor vehicle mechanics especially liked to carry on with Jeff. Jeff was truly one of the most special people I've ever known and I was so happy for him when he chose to go into his business for himself although I missed him terribly. Our paths have crossed some since then, but I'll always remember that sweet young man from Clintwood. God bless all of you as you go through this terrible loss. I feel loss as well.

I went by the shop today and discovered the bad news. I got to know Jeff over the pass few years. If there was ever a role model for life , Jeff seem to be it, as many people have said," alway with a big smile," I like to think that God has took his smile and hung it out as a bright new star. So when you look up at the heavens see if you can see Jeff smiling back at you. Our prayers go out to Jeff's family and friends at these moments of sorrow.

i worked at bojangles for 14 years and jeff and his wife would come through and they both was always so nice to me i was saddened to hear the news of his passing your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

My father Bill Waters was close friends with Jeff. Jeff will surely be missed. I have not seen him in a while but I must say when I met/knew him Jeff was a very gentle and kind person. Always very Christ like and happy. Loved to joke around and had a great personality. What a tragic loss for this world what a wonderful gain for Heaven. My heart is breaking for this family they have been thru so much this year and I know their pain has to be unbearable. God I pray that you will give them peace and comfort thru this traggedy. I will miss Jeff Murphy, I could always count on jeff for help on anything I asked and he new as well I was only a phone call away. Jeff and I spent many many hours planning and carrying out many fun things in which we both enjoyed and that was performance vehicles, or anything that was fast we thoroughly enjoyed talking and performing many functions to simply make things faster and better. It always brought a smile to my face when I would see Jeff arrive knowing he had something fun in store, I miss my friend and will always know I can speak with him through prayer while he is above looking down to us with his friendly smile.

He welcomed us as a new neighbors, let me borrow his tools, and even repaired my broken flag pole. When it snowed, he made sure my parking lot was plowed.
