Lewis Stine Delameter

Lewis Stine Delameter, Sr. of Conyers, Georgia, died on Friday Sept. 7 at Heartland Hospice after a short illness. He leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret, daughter Charlotte and son-in law Jeff Bauer of Conyers, GA, son Lewis, Jr. and daughter-in-law Lynne Delameter of Newhall, CA, son Bruce Delameter of Minneapolis, MN, grandchildren, Jillian and Douglas Delameter of Minnesota, Beth Delameter of Georgia, Amy Delameter Pope of Alabama, cherished sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Bertling of Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Delameter was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 4, 1920. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force Reserve in 1980. He was a long time member of the IBEW, the OX-5 Aviation Pioneers, and the Atlanta Senior Golfers Association. He along with his wife, Margaret, established
the Senior Golfers Association at Honey Creek Golf Club in Conyers. He and his wife were parishioners at St. Simon's Episcopal Church. Mr. Delameter had an undying faith in God. He was a humble man, who felt we should leave this world a better place. He had many friends, greeted everyone with a smile and was always ready to share his many skills with anyone who needed help. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Mr. Delameter was cremated and his ashes inurned at the St. Simon Columbarium. The service will be private. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughtfulness and especially the staff at Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care he received there.
