Richard Gordon "Rich" Fuller Obituary
Richard "Rich" Gordon Fuller 1953—2018
Richard "Rich" Gordon Fuller, 65, of Kirkland, Illinois, died peacefully Thursday, September 13, 2018, at his home. He was born August 7, 1953, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the son of Ted and Rosalie (Schyvinck) Fuller. Richard was married to Peggy Magee, his best friend and lifelong love. Rich was a tool-and-die maker by trade and worked at many local manufacturers, including Goss, Rockford Headed Products, and Camcar, retiring from Acument in 2008. Rich loved to golf, fish (especially on his family trips to Canada), gamble and do crossword puzzles. He enjoyed sports and was a lifelong Packers and Cubs fan. But the games he enjoyed the most was watching those played by his best buddy and grandson, Logan. Rich and Peggy loved to travel and traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Central America. His favorite was Belize, where they often went to enjoy his jungle paradise home and property. Rich is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, David Fuller of Kirkland, and Katie (Lowell "Butch" Brush) Fuller of Rochelle; grandchildren, Nathan, Logan and Teagan; siblings, Dale (Diane) Fuller of Byron, Brenda (Jim) Kubasta of Winneconne, WI, and Vicki (Chris) Needham of Foley, AL.; mother-in-law, Rosie Magee of Loves Park; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Laurie Hart of Rockford, Mark (Wendy) Magee of Crystal Lake, and Nancy (Dave) Little of Machesney Park; many loved nieces and nephews; and his family/special friends in Belize, Thomas and Juanita Caretela and their children and grandchildren in Santa Elena, Cayo, Belize. He was predeceased by his parents; mother- and father-in-law, Dolores (Griswold) Magee and Ronald Magee; and sister-in-law, Ronda Magee Shafer. In 2014, Rich received a lung transplant. He fought through many hardships and was always very grateful for his donor's gift of life. Rich tried to live his life to the fullest, always saying he lived a "Rich Fuller" life. The family gives special thanks to the entire Lung Transplant Team at UW-Madison, especially Kelly Radford, RN Transplant Coordinator, Dr. David Sonetti and Tiffany Mack, PA. He was a good man and a brave soul. His family loved him so much and he will be greatly missed.
