William Evans Obituary

William 'Bill' Mason Evans 1942—2021
ROCKFORD – William "Bill" Mason Evans, age 77, of Rockford and formerly of Creston, IA passed away peacefully Thursday June 4, 2020. Born in Ames, IA on December 15, 1942 to Robert A. & Virginia Evans (Mason). Bill attended Kemper Military Academy and served two years in the United States Army. In August 1970 he married Linda Below in Rockford, Illinois. Bill was a member of Broadway Covenant Church and retired from Joseph Behr & Sons in 2006. As a young man Bill was interested in wood working and classical cars. His love of dogs, all things from the 60's, the oldies and Turner Classic movies was well-known by those he conversed with. One of his favorite activities was playing cards and building structures with his granddaughters. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Evans; children, Jill (Luke) Tenery; grandchildren, Ruth, Betsy and Julia Tenery; siblings, Julie (John) Dedrick, Susan (Gary) Wasserman, Jane (Ray) Ryan and Charlotte Evans; and numerous nieces & nephews whom he loved dearly.
