Priscilla Ann Thompson Obituary
Priscilla Ann Thompson of Ruidoso passed away at her home on Sunday, August 5, 2018.
She was born on November 27, 1923 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She lived for a portion of her life on the Navajo Reservation near Shiprock, New Mexico. Her mother, Franc J. Newcomb did extensive work documenting the Navajo ceremonial religion and wrote quite a few books about the Navajo. Her father, Arthur Newcomb ran a trading post. Newcomb, New Mexico is named for her parents. Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband, William 'Bill' Thompson and her sister Lynette Wilson. She attended college at the University of New Mexico where she was a member of the Alpha Chi sorority. After graduating from UNM, she attended Parsons School of Design in New York and worked briefly as a graphic designer for Mademoiselle Magazine.

She was a member of the American Association of University Women and was a trustee for the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian. She traveled around New Mexico speaking to other AAUW groups about her mother's life. She was also a frequent event speaker for the Wheelwright Museum.

She and her husband were both active members of the bridge community in Ruidoso. Quoting a close friend, Kathy Ranne; "Priscilla was an aggressive bidder and it led to a lot of wins."

Priscilla is survived by her 4 children, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
