Allyn A. Griffin

BRANDON - Allyn Albert Griffin, 69, died July 22, 2011, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Sudbury Nov. 8, 1941, the son of Benoni and Vivian (Dodge) Griffin Sr.

He graduated from Brandon High School in 1960.

In earlier years, Mr. Griffin worked on the family farm and was later employed by Newton-Thompson Wooden Toy Manufacturing Co. in Forestdale and Bill Ryan Chevrolet in Brandon. He retired in 2005 from the shipping department at Standard Register in Middlebury, following 38 years of service.

He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine (Johnson) Griffin of Brandon, whom he married in Leicester Feb. 25, 1961; two daughters, Lisa Ellis of South Yarmouth, Mass., and Jennifer Bartlett of Brandon; two sons, David Griffin of Brandon and Terry Griffin of Sturbridge, Mass.; two brothers, Benoni Jr. and Tom Griffin, both of Sudbury; seven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Louise Bedrosian, in 2008.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Brandon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Bove, pastor, officiating, followed by burial in Forestdale Cemetery and a reception in the church hall.
