FAIR HAVEN - The Rev. Gordon R. Naser, 87, of Fair Haven died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Torrington, Conn., the son of J. Stephen and Winifred (Healy) Naser.
He graduated from Torrington High School in 1946, Castleton State College, Bangor Theological Seminary and Chicago Theological Seminary.
He began working part time with his father in 1944 at a fish hatchery in Litchfield Conn., then as a fish culturist for the state of Connecticut.
He was pastor for parishes in Maine, Illinois, Ohio and Massachusetts, as well as Fair Haven and West Rutland in Vermont.
The Rev. Naser enjoyed collecting die-cast antique cars and fishing.
Survivors include a daughter Ada-Marie Naser, a son Eric Naser, a sister Lucina Sekulski, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Janet (Sullivan) Naser on June 23, 1999; and a brother Robert A. Naser on Feb. 15, 2015.
There will be no public calling hours or funeral service.
Private graveside services will be at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven.
Arrangements are by Durfee Funeral Home.
