Colonel O';Brien Obituary

Retired Colonel William "Bill" Joseph O'Brien was born on October 27, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to David and Kathleen O'Brien and died on January 5, 2019 in El Dorado Hills, CA. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Paula O'Brien, son Jim O'Brien (wife Trish), and daughters Maureen Pfeifer and Kathleen O'Brien as well as his grandchildren Nick, Morgan, Xavier, and Jack and nephew Bob Stewart. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his son Johnny, and his siblings Ben and Bob O'Brien and Ruth Stewart. Bill served honorably in the United States Air Force for 27 years and obtained the rank of colonel. He served in the Vietnam War, where he earned the Bronze Star. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 11 at 11:00 am at St. John's Catholic Church, 307 Montrose Dr., Folsom, CA with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Citrus Heights.
