Saturday, August 4, 2018, the world got a little dimmer when Raymond A. Gonzales joined his father, Ramondo Gonzales, in heaven. Ray had a larger than life personality; he was a loving father, loyal son, great brother, friend and coach. During his 52 years, Ray proudly served his country as active-duty Army National Guard and went on to a career as a high steel journeyman with Ironworkers Local 118 out of California. Ray relocated back to New Mexico in 2009 from California. He was a practical jokester, dedicated soft ball coach and proud father. He is survived by four daughters Cheyenne Root and Selena, Maya and Esme Gonzales; as well as two sons Dakota and Jared Drahn. Ray is also survived by his mother, Inge Gonzales; and brother, Nikolaus Gonzales, who reside in Pecos; his brother, Gabriel Gonzales, who lives in Virginia with his wife and two children; and three nieces and four nephews from Nick's family. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ray's life with mass at St. Anne's Parish in Santa Fe at 10:00 am Tuesday August 14th and burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in Ray's name.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good man. He became my friend. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to all of his family. He will truly be missed. I will miss him giving me a hard time every time he comes in. I will miss his smiling face and laughter that we shared. I am sure he will be terribly missed by his family. The memories will always live on.

My deepest condolences to Inge and all the family. One can never understand why, but prayers to his children and brothers and nephews and nieces and mom and all family to know that someday you will see him in a better place and know that he is now with his father Ramondo and heavenly father in peace from this world. No suffering and pain in this world. God bless you all.
