Betty Kellam Metcalf

  • "We are grateful for the friendship of this kind, wonderful,..."
    - Tom & Kim Walker
  • "Love you Aunt Betty...Was dreaming about your home last..."
  • "To Chris and Kitty, I am so very sorry for the loss of you..."

Betty passed away on Dec. 18, 2018. She was a loving wife to her belated husband Bob, loving mother to her kids Kitty, Chris and Norman, her niece Janis, loving grandmother to six, great-grandmother to three. She was loving and kind to all that knew her, and had a delightful sense of humor. She had so many friends and neighbors that absolutely adored her. Words fall short of what an angel she was to every underdog she encountered, whether human or animal, and the amount of compassion she had for all. When the family was young she served as a nurse in the infirmary at a little village in the Congo that Bob had built where they served as Methodist Missionaries for four years. Upon return to Sacramento, she raised her three children while working part time as a nurse. No matter what struggles life brought her, she never lost her compassion or humor. She had the best garden and was blessed with a green thumb. The property where they lived for fifty years flourished under her care. She made the most beautiful flower arrangements all with the flowers she grew. She is loved and missed by untold friends and acquaintances. She had the best Christmas ever with all her loved ones that passed before her. Memorial service will be at St. Marks Methodist Church January 19th at 2:00pm.
