Columbus Lawrence Johnson, Jr, age 55, passed away at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles on June 4, 2018 with his family and close friends at his side. He was a 1980 graduate of Cordova High School, and a 1985 graduate of California State University, Sacramento where he joined Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He relocated to Los Angeles to start a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where his career spanned over 30 years. He is preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Jean Johnson. He is survived by his father, Columbus Johnson Sr.; brother, Maurice Johnson (Tanya); sisters, Staci Rose, Taryn Herrera (Fernando), Karyn Rahming (Reginald); and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and God-children. Columbus was friend to everyone he met and his friendships spread the around the world. He will be missed by all that knew him. Homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00am at the Community of Faith Bible Church, 12025 Industrial Avenue, South Gate CA 90280. Interment will be Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00am at Camellia Memorial Lawn, 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento CA 95827. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, consider making a donation of your money, time, or talent to a charitable organization of your choice as a way of honoring his memory.
