Duane Alfred Turner, 71, was taken from us on June 8, 2018, at home, surrounded by family after fighting a tough battle with cancer. He was born in Oskaloosa IA January 25, 1947, to George and Virginia Turner. Graduated with the Oskaloosa Hi School class of '65 and joined the US Air Force which brought him to California. He was a Sheet Metal Journeyman with Local 162, as well as Business Manager/President. A member of SIRS Branch 117. Loved his family, golf, NASCAR, NHRA, 49ers, woodworking, and RV traveling. Survived by his wife Vannette of nearly 49 years, daughters Stephanie (David) Soileau, Jill (Brian) Enney & son Michael. Grandsons Donald, Adam, Zachary, Austin, Jacob and great grandson Roberto. Sisters Beverly Williams & Marla Thomas and brother Ronald (Carolyn) Turner. Favorite son-in-law to Rosalie Furgason, Duane will also be missed by 2 sisters-in-law, Barbara Furgason, Joyce Goodwin, and brother-in-law Kent Furgason as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers-in-law Dick Williams and Danny Thomas, father-in-law Boyd Furgason and sister-in-law Janice Barker. Duane was a loving and fun Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, Papa, Uncle, In-law, Friend and Mentor to many and will be greatly missed by all. Burial will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon CA, TBA. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations to the Sheet Metal Workers Local 104 Members Hardship Fund, 2610 Crow Canyon Rd, Suite 300, San Ramon, Ca 94583, can be made in Duane's name, or .
