Gladys Brown passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2018, surrounded by her family. Gladys was 102 years old. Born in Carnegie, Pennsylvania on July 23, 1916 to Thomas and Fanny Somerton. She moved to Roseville at age 7 and was a graduate of Roseville High School. Gladys owned and operated Lee's Cash Grocery for 20 years on Riverside Ave with her husband Thomas Lee (deceased). Gladys later opened and operated the Knitting Corner at the same location for 8 years. Gladys moved to Rocklin in 1977 and re-married at age 65 to childhood friend, Lloyd Brown (deceased). Gladys is survived by 3 daughters: Diane Sanders, Nancy Berg, Kathy Vanderford (Bruce); son in-law, Bill Barlow; and her sister, Louise Tindol of Beeville, Texas. Devoted Grandmother to 18 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren and 15 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Gladys is preceded in death by two husbands: Thomas Lee (37 years), Lloyd Brown (23 years); and daughter, Janice Barlow. Gladys will be greatly missed. A Remembrance will be held Monday, September 17th at 11:00 AM at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville.
