James Bissell passed away peacefully in Granite Bay, CA on December 06, 2018, after a heartbreaking battle with both bone cancer and Alzheimer's Disease. He was 86 years old. Jim grew up in Lodi, WI and studied at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He proudly served in the US Army in the Korean War. A job opportunity from a classmate moved Jim to Sacramento, CA where he met Beatrice and fell in love. They were soon married and began a family, moving from Sacramento to Santa Cruz, and finally to Half Moon Bay, CA where they would raise their three children and live for the next 35 years. Jim worked as a traffic engineer for the City of Sacramento, and later for the City of Santa Cruz. Jim retired from civil service in 1976 but continued to work as a civil engineer in the private sector until his retirement in 1994. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bea; their three children: Cindy Goff (Carl Lee), Bob Bissell (Carla), and Jeffrey Bissell (Darrell Meade); four grandchildren: Matthew Ketchum, Michelle Ketchum (Lucas Langley), Brendan Bissell, and Mae Bissell; four great grandchildren: Anthony Crosby, Joey Ketchum, Christopher Ketchum, Cora Langley. Jim is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family. A mass will be held at 11 AM on February 6, 2019 at Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church in Half Moon Bay, CA, followed by a celebration of Jim's life.
