John Byouk, age 73, died tragically on June 23, 2018. While heading to Seattle, after a week's long visit with family and friends, he was hit head-on by a driver traveling south on the northbound side of Interstate 5. John had a passion for politics from a young age. The California native graduated from Roseville High School as Student Body President in 1962, earned a Bachelor's Degree studying Political Science at CSUS, and became a multi-term elected member of the Roseville City Council throughout the 1980's; he was a dedicated advocate of Roseville's early transition from a junction town to what is now the largest city in Placer County. He continued to be in service to people throughout the rest of his life as an insurance broker - always diligent in providing the best products/education to his clients. His family and friends knew him as dedicated, loyal, and caring. He always had a solution to any problem and never failed to come through in times of need; his heart was as big as the world. John was preceded in death by his father John W. Byouk (1974), mother Marie E. Byouk (Sevo) (2014). He is survived by his daughter Katherine Byouk, sister Diane Jacobson (Byouk), nephews John and Ricky Jacobson, twin grand-nieces Annika and Hannah Jacobson, the children and grandchildren of a very dear friend he lost in 2012, and other family and friends. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to mourn this tragedy privately.
