It is with great sadness that the family of John S. Skaggs announces his passing on July 8, 2018 at the young age of 63. John is remembered as a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. John was a long-time teacher and took pride in teaching with the Twin Rivers School District in Northern California. His favorite subject was history. John enjoyed the great outdoors. During summer school breaks, as an employee, he would work in National State Parks; Denali, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon to name a few. He retired from teaching in 2010. John was adventurous and loved to travel. He has traveled to many different countries in the last 40 years; the most recent being Australia which he explored for two months. He enjoyed bicycling, gardening, hiking, and so much more. John is survived by his sister Rebecca Donnachie and niece, Jessica. John's family will remember him as a good man, best brother ever, and a great uncle! To many, John will be remembered by his kind and gentle soul, his sense of humor, and a hard worker always willing to lend a helping hand. Per John's wishes there will be no service.
