June C. Adema, 92, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2018. She was born on June 10, 1926, in New Orleans, LA. She was a resident of New Orleans until 1962 when the family moved to Colorado; that began the journey that would take her to Texas, California, and Germany. She loved traveling and was delighted when work took her and her husband overseas. Eventually, settling in Sacramento, she was a resident there until 2016 when she moved to Yuba City, CA. June was many things to her church and her community as well as wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was first for her. She was active in the Catholic Church wherever she lived serving in many ministries. She had a great love for veterans and worked hard to help wherever she could. She served as the California State Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She also served as the State President of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. She was a member of Young Ladies Institute (YLI). She loved crossword puzzles, card games, and always had a good book nearby. June is survived by her husband of 73 years, John Adema; daughter ,June McJunkin; daughter, Jamie Millen (Jerry); son, Joel Adema (Debby); daughter, Jill Dahlen (Jerry); and son, Justin Adema (Paulette). She is also survived by her sister, Francine Flanders of Louisiana. Her legacy lives on in 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her father, Frank J. Corcoran; mother, Una D. Corcoran South; and brother, Frank A. Corcoran. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to the or the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) Unit 6, PO Box 898, Soda Springs, CA 95728. Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at St. Isidore Church, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City, CA. Beginning with Rosary at 11:00 a.m., Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow.
