Kaoru Bernice Ouye (1918 - 2018)

Kaoru was born on July 18, 1918 in Sacramento to Hisata and Kinue Iwasa. Passed away on May 28, 2018. She graduated from Sacramento High School 1937. In 1942, she and her family were relocated to the Poston Internment Camp in Arizona. Later she returned to Sacramento. Preceded in death by her husband, Minoru. Survived by daughters Kathryn Jones (Doug) and Marilyn (Miles Nakatogawa); granddaughters Emily Paine (Kyle) and Erin Jones; and great-grandchildren Bennett and Callie Paine; sister Miyo Kobata (Ted, d. 2016); brother Yoshio Iwasa (Ritsuko); sisters-in-law Rose Iwasa (Masami, d. 2016), Judy Iwasa (Takao, d. 2005); and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by sister Kiyoka Kawamura (Masao), brother-in-law John Suyehiro, and sister-in-law Chizue Suyehiro. Special thanks to Dr. Takagi, Ashford Home owners and staff, and Margaret for their loving care. Memorial Service June 16, 2018, 11am at Mayhew Community Baptist Church, 3401 Routier Rd, Sac. Casual attire.
