Karen Boggs, resident of Sacramento, CA, aged 78, passed away at home with family by her side, after a long illness, on December 27, 2018. Karen was a lifetime resident of Sacramento. She graduated from El Camino High School in 1958 and worked for over 30 years as an office manager for Carl E. Drake Sr., M.D. and Melvin Williams, Ph.D. In the 70's, she worked as a gymnastics coach for the Arden Ariel's Gymnastics Club and judged gymnastics at a national level. Karen loved animals and took care of many during her lifetime including horses, sheep, mynah birds, Caesar the spider monkey, Iggy the iguana, and many dogs. Most recently, Scooby, the dog that loves to play in the pool. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Idalene Edwards. She is survived by her husband, David; her daughters, Kelly (Abrahamson) Peterson and her husband, Todd; Korbe (Abrahamson) Carney and her partner, Randy Ulrici; her grandsons, Lucas Raley and his wife, Carly; Joshua Raley and his wife, Tracy. Granddaughters, Chelsea Carney and boyfriend, Jason Watts; Shelby Carney and boyfriend, Erik Hernandez. Great grandsons, Wyatt and Jack Raley. Her brother, Tommy Edwards and his wife, Angela. Nieces, Leslie (Edwards) Lee and her husband, Mike, Kristie (Edwards) Bertacchi and her husband, Will, and their children, Mia and Suzie. As well as numerous relatives. Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Chapel, 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819.
