Nancy Parry Obituary

Nancy Ruth Parry, age 89, of Rocklin, California passed away suddenly, on December 6, 2018 with many of her family members by her side. Nancy was born in November of 1929 in South San Francisco. She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her husband Bill and only son Ray preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother Roy, daughters; Teresa, Susan, Linda, Karen, Janice, Jayne and Nancy; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with the 12th arriving in February. Nancy grew up in San Bruno, CA and graduated from Mercy High School Burlingame class of 1947. She was a hard worker and at the time of her retirement she had worked her way up to the Director of Marketing for Patelco Credit Union in San Francisco. Nancy was instrumental in starting the Delancey Street Credit Union in San Francisco to help others improve their lives. Upon retirement, she moved to Pine Mountain Lake, in Groveland where she started the Hetch-Hetchy Board of Realtors. Nancy assisted Mark Thornton in researching and producing historical books about Groveland and creating the Walking Tour Pamphlet of Groveland. She loved being involved in the community working with the Friends of the Library, the Historical Society, among others. She always desired to acquire new knowledge and skills. She was very proud to have passed the HAM radio operators test and became an amateur radio operator. Additionally she was selected to be secretary of B.I.A.R.C. During 2002, she decided to fully retire to Kea'au, Hawaii. She referred to Hawaii as her "Parrydise". After the elapse of 3 years she returned to the mainland settling down in Roseville and Rocklin, CA. Nancy was known for her kindness, friendship, love of entertaining, card playing, cooking and her feisty sense of humor. She made sure she knew the latest ways of communication to keep in touch with her family and friends, through texting, Facetime and using her Apple watch. Her greatest happiness came from the time spent with her family and many friends enjoying the laughter and recounting fond memories. Nancy was a beautiful woman who will be forever remembered by her family, extended family and dear friends. NH7RT "Signing Off, Over and Out" A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
