Richard Hoisington (1939 - 2017)

  • "Sorry for your loss. May you find strength and peace from..."

On November 20, 2017, Richard Hoisington moved on peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born on May 23, 1939, he grew up in Alameda, studied architecture at UC Berkeley and moved to Sacramento, where he worked for the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. In 1964, he married the love of his life, Kathleen, who preceded him in death in 2003. When he was not doodling plans for dream buildings, he enjoyed sailing, travelling, crossword puzzles and making wicked good food. He was also a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West. A master of the one-liner, his sharp wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughters, Karen and Jill; sons-in-law Rune and Paul; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily and Logan. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 18th from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Elk Grove Park Pavilion 9950 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove.
